Meditation, Knowledge, Devotion and Service under one roof
To many Indians, as well as non-Indians, ‘Vedanta’ merely refers to a portion of the Vedic literature, comprising the Upanishads, the Puranas and the Bhagwat Gita. But Dr Shishir Jaiswal questioned the popular myth and asked himself and those around him, “Is that all?” He found, not surprisingly, that Vedanta, in actuality, defines the quality of being human. In other words… Vedanta teaches profound humanity. We understood this allegory of Vedanta and brought its four yoga’s – meditation, knowledge, devotion and service under one roof – the VEDANTA HOSPITAL.

Journey of Vedanta
Vedanta Hospital was opened with the aim of providing medical facilities which are much in demand in the area of Azamgarh. As a practicing Doctor in Azamgarh, Dr Shishir Jaiswal was discontented and distraught when he saw Azamgarh’s critically ill patients travel more than 90 kilometers to BHU or 270 kilometers to Lucknow for basic specialized care. Having lost his own father to a head injury which, could have been treated and the fatality prevented, if there had been a specialized hospital in his home town, he empathized as well as sympathized with the trauma patients and their family members suffered due to lack of adequate medical facilities.
Dr Jaiswal knew that a hospital providing specialized care was a much needed initiative for the people to come in for specialized treatments without travelling long distances. He knows first-hand that when a critically ill patient saves time on travel distance it directly translates into lives and money saved. With this aim, began the Vedanta journey to save lives, improve rehabilitation, decrease discomfort and most importantly provide the best medical care possible to the people of Azamgarh and its neighboring areas, irrespective of their personal beliefs or wealth.
